Thursday Thrillers 8-22-13

Last week, we did the three word thing and we'll be doing that again, but I have something different in mind for this week.  One of my favorite writing prompts was in working from the first line.  This week, I'll give you the first sentence of a story and it's up to you to make something scary, spooky, mysterious from it.  Have fun!!!

1.) The mailman drove past the house without leaving anything once again.
2.) The angelic statue in the front yard seemed to carry a sad look on her face.
3.) Our bus pulled into the campsite with a bang.
4.) A mist hovered above the field of wild heather.
5.) Thirty men topped the hill in full armor.
6.) Daniel's waitress refused to smile at his attempt at humor.
7.) It seemed everyone at the party was having a good time except Janice.
8.) The road was lined with trees filled with hues of red, orange, and yellow.
9.) Jimmy felt as though he'd die while walking through the mall with his mom.
10.) The shop was filled with masks from around the world, and from ages long forgotten.

There ya go, kids.  Hope you create something wonderful and if you do, be sure to let us know.  Have fun and happy writing.
